CHRISTCHURCH COUNCIL MEETS CREDIT BALANCES SHOWN Credit balances for Marlborough, Westport. Nelson, and Christchurch were disclosed at a meeting yesterday of the Christchurch Central Council of the National Federation of Health Camps. The figures were Christchurch £906. Nelson £6OB, Marlborough £lB5, and Westport £lO7, Mr F. W. Furby presided, and other bodies were represented by Messrs C. W. Tyler (Christchurch District Executive), St. J. J. Dunne (Marlborough Health Camp Association), H. J. Savage (Nelson Association), C. S. Thompson (Canterbury Education Board), Dr. Baker-Mc-Laglen, and Mr E. Jupp (Health Department). Dr. D. E. Currie and Mrs J. Musker (Christchurch Sunlight League), Miss M. Enright (Westport District Executive), and Mrs F, M. Minogue (Mid-Canterbury Health Camp A ccrtPiaHnnl Following a discussion taken in committee, it was decided to instruct the council’s delegates to see that healthstamp funds were not utilised for the maintenance of permanent health camps. „ , Messrs Savage and Tyler were appointed delegates to the Dominion Advisory Board of the National Federation of Health Camps. . Authority was given to the District Executive to send children to Cholmondeley Home at a cost of up to £8 a month. . , “The Sunlight League, as an independent body, has definitely decided not to send children to the home when the Mayor’s fund (£200) is exhausted.” Dr. Currie explained. It would be a proper function, he thought for the District Executive to supply the money for the children to be sent to the home, and it would be a pity if children were no longer sent because the Sunlight League was not supplied any longer with the requisite funds. The league had sent a limited number of children to the home, and he suggested that the district executive be authorised to carry on a similar practice. Dr. Currie’s suggestion was adopted.

CALEDONIAN HALL DANCE Special exhibition dances by pupils of Miss Mfivis Neate will be the attraction at the Caledonian Hall tomorrow evening. Old and new dances, lucky spot dances and four cash Monte Carlos are also included on the programme. George Bradford’s orchestra ,will provide the dance music.
