Sterling, formerly General Manager of Railways, had been asked to accept office as New Zealand organiser, was referred to by the Auckland organiser, Mr B. G. Edwards, and given a complete denial. , Mr Edwards added that on Saturday night a group of representatives from the Bay of Plenty. Tauranga Rotorua, and Thames had attended a meeting at Rotorua, and passed a unanimous resolution supporting the party and their leader.
