FRIENDLINESS OF N.Z CHURCHES
BISHOP J. A. KEMPTHOHNE IMPRESSED The keenness of church life and th( friendliness between denominations ix the Dominion has earned the favour' able comment of Bishop J. A. _KcmP'
thorne, of England, who has been making a tour of the Dominion. Bishop Kempthorne, who is remaining in Christchurch for a day, recently resigned from the diocese of Lichfield after 24 years. It was in this diocese that Bishop Selwyn served the church. Bishop Kempthorne said he found church life very keen in New Zealand as far as he could judge from the few weeks he had spent here. He was glad too. to see the relationship among the e churches was of a friendly nature, n though talk of antagonism of one .church for another was out of date. '* He had now preached at five differ- '• ent churches in the Dominion, and
had had good congregations. Apart from the church, he had been impressed, he added, by the kindly and friendly welcome which he had met. _____________
