SUPPLIES OF RAW MATERIALS
4 SMALL PROPORTION FROM COLONIES (BRITISH Omciit WIRELESS.) RUGBY, September 8, The report of the League of Nations committee appointed to study the problems of raw materials has now been published at Geneva. Interesting points in the report are that the total present production of all commercially important raw materials in all colonial territories is no more than about 3 per cent, of the world production. In fact, with the exception of palm oil, rubber, and copra, most raw materials are produced wholly, or almost wholly, in non-colonial territories. the committee’s opinion the difficulties experienced concerning raw materials arising from the problems of payment are vastly more important than those arising from the problems of access or supply.
