MARKETS QUIETER SEVERAL stocks ease The Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday was quiet with recorded turnover small. The' prices of several stocks were easier.

Bank of New Zealand had business at 45s. market closing Id either way. Sellers of Bank of New South Wales came down to £32 12s 6d without attracting buyers. Unsupported sellers of English, Scottish, and Australian Bank reduced their limits to £5 12s 6d. Miscellaneous Australian Glass were weaker with sellers at 93s 3d. Beath and Cor npany wptp firm at 22s 4d. Sellers of British Tobacco reduced their limits to 49s 5d buyers at 49s 3d. Broken Hill Pro* prietary dropped to 77s. buyers slayim in at that price, sellers at 77s 3d. Colmia] Sugar were easier at £47 7s 6r and £47 5s. and more were offered at £47 2s 6d. Dunlop Rubber were r ractionally weaker at 23s, and fur'her sellers at 22s lOd. Sellers of ElecIrolytic Zinc reduced their limits tc 58s 9d for the ordinary and 59s 8d for the preference. G. J. Coles dodined to dealings at prices ranginf from 96s to 96s 9d. market closing 96 buyers, 96s 3d sellers. Hume Pip' 'Australia) were firm with buyers anc business at 20s 2d. Taranaki Oilfield' changed hands on the morning call a 7s Id. and on the afternoon call at 6' 9d and 6s 8d. and there were f urther sellers at the lowest price. Mining Broken Hill South fell to 47 s 5d and 47s 6d. Mount Lycll declined tc dealings at prices ranging from 42; 3d to 41s lid, market closing 42s 1c buyers, 42s 3d sellers. Mount Morgan' eased to 10s 9d and there wo’ e further buyers at that figure. Sellers o: North Broken Hill reduced their limits to 73s 9d.
