THE PRESBYTERY

REMITS FOR ASSEMBLY DISCUSSED

Remits for submission to the next General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church were discussed at the meeting of the Christchurch Presbytery yesterday. The Moderator, the Rev. J. Lawson Robinson, presided. Reports of visitations to the Belfast, Styx, New Brighton, and Sefton Churches were adopted. A report on statistics of the congregations within the bounds of the presbytery was presented by Mr W. H. Rose. The holding of a social questions conference, similar to the one held towards the end of last year, was discussed. It was decided not to hold such a conference this year. It was decided that the licensing of Mr R. Brown, a student, should take place at the St. Albans Church on the evening of the October meeting of the presbytery.
