"MAYFAIR PLAYBOYS"
LEADER TAKEN TO LONDON UNDER ARREST LONDON, August 26. Dick Beaumont, the leader of the "Mayfair Playboys," who proposed to make a world cruise in a yawl, called in at Southampton to buy provisions for the boat. He was detained by the police and brought to London. . In the Bow Street Police Court he was charged with passing a.worth-. less cheque in a West End hotel. The prosecutor said that a more serious charge was pending. Bail was not granted. •■,*,.* *u Q Beaumont's solicitor said that the trip was unlikely to eventuate.
