CLARKE—DIERCK
The marriage was quietly celebrated at the Church of St. Michael's, Oxford terrace, of Hubert George, only son of the late Mr and Mrs G. H. Clarke (Selwyn street}, and Florence Leah, youngest daughter of the late Mr C. T. Dierck. and of Mrs B. L. Dierck, West Melton. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Cecil E. B. Muschamp. The bride, who entered the church with her mother, wore a becoming frock of ice-blue tricotlne relieved with a stitched collar and belt of navy blue marocain. The pleated bodice was trimmed with a row of tiny looped blue buttons. She wore also a northern skunk fur and a full-fronted Jack Tar hat of navy straw trimmed with a marine blue and white bow. Her shower bouquet was of hyacinths, freesias and pink camellias. The bride was attended by her niece, Miss Patricia Walker (Christchurch)., who wore a two-piece frock of blue cire satin with a vestee of lemon lace. Her bouquet was of pink flowers and lily-of-the-valley. Mr George McGallan was best man. Later, the guests were entertained at an informal reception held at Beath's. For travelling, the bride wore a tailored grey costume with a navy blue halo hat. and carried a musquash fur coat.
WEBB—GRANT
Yesterday afternoon the wedding was celebrated at Knox Church, Bealey avenue, of Ailsa Mary, only daughter of Mr and Mrs H. A. Grant, St. Albans, to Edward Aitken, only son of Mr Webb and the late Mrs P. E. Webb (Napier). The Rev. T. W. Armour performed the ceremony. Mr Grant escorted his daughter, who was attended by Miss Joan Furze. Mr R. J. Grant, the bride's brother, was best man.
After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the home of the bride's parents. Mr and Mrs E. A. Webb will live at Hawera.

Miss Dulcie Manchester (Waimate) is staying with Mrs E. Howden, Park Lane.
Miss Irene McLean has returned to Dunedin after visiting her mother. Miss Ethel Wilkie and Miss Isla Allport; (Elizabeth street) are visiting Mount Cook.
Mrs V. Piper and Miss Beth Piper (Lower Hutt) are spending a holiday with Mrs C. A. Ellis, Onslow street. Miss Cheyne and Mr A. Cheyne (Mosgiel) are the guests of Mrs A. R. Graham, Nile street.
"FOOTBALL CARNIVAL"
A special "football carnival" will be held at the Caledonian Hall tomorrow evening, under the auspices of the Caledonian Select Assembly. Old and new dances. balloons, streamers, cash Monte Carlos, and lucky spot dances are included on the programme. George Bradford's orchestra will provide the dance music. A special invitation is extended to visitors.
