WATERSIDE TROUBLES

TO THE EDIIOB OF THE PRESS. Sir, —It was rather amusing to see in "The Press" of recent date the headline. "Disciplining Watersiders." in which the Hon. P. Fraser castigated the wharf workers (in Wellington) for some breach of the union award. For a period, before he became a professional Socialist politician, the Hon. P. Fraser worked on the Wellington wharf. In the 1913 strike Mr Fraser was what would be termed in colloquial language, a "big noise." There is. however, no person more competent to speak of and remedy waterside workers' troubles than Peter Fraser.— Yours, etc.. EX-PONEKE. August 25, 1937.
