RAILWAY LINE BUCKLED BY HEAT
HOLIDAYMAKERS FORCED TO USE BUSES LONDON, August 8. The sun’s rays during the hottest week-end for four years buckled the Portland-Weymouth railway line, holding up the crowded traffic for two hours. Hundreds of holidaymakers were forced to detrain and board buses. A similar happening is unknown in Britain. __
