AVIATOR'S BRAVERY RECOGNISED

AWARD TO CAPTAIN I'. «• TAYLOR CANBERRA, July 10. The King has awarded to Captain P. G. Taylor the medal of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for Gallantry (Civil Division) for his bravery during the late Sir Charles Kingsford-Smith's unsuccessful attempt to fly the Tasman in May, 1935. The medal is awarded only in recognition of acts of gallantry and the standard required is very high.
