GOLF AT GREYMOUTH
1\ WARNES WINS SENIOR DIVISION
The course was heavy at Kaiata during the medal match on Saturday. P. Warnes was out in 38 and home in 42 for an excellent card of 80. to win the senior division from a handicap of four. His form is encouraging for the West Coast championships, which will begin on Wednesday.

HOCKEY AT GREYMOUTH
DRAW IN BOTH MATCHES
Both the hockey matches played at Greymouth on Saturday resulted in a draw, Cobden and Te Rama each scoring two goals, and in the other match Pacific and Mawhera drew with four goals each. Pacific was at one stage losing by 3 goals to 0. The score at the interval was Mawhera 2, Pacific 0. After halftime, however, Pacific rallied and was able to score three goals, bringing it equal with Mawhera. Mawhera then scored again, but Pacific attacked, and was able to make the game a draw.

BANK OFFICER HONOURED AT WESTPORT
Members of the Westport Golf Club met on Friday evening to say farewe:i to Mr E. B. Harding, of the staff of the Bank of New South Wales, who has been transferred to Christchurch, and whose marriage to Miss K. Henley, of Westport, will take place next week. Mr H. Lovell, president of the club, presided. Mr Lovell referred to the splendid work done by Mr Harding in the interests of the golf club, particularly during his term as secretary. BULLER OFFICERS ELECTED After an all-day meeting on Saturday of representatives of labour organisations in the Buller electorate, the following officers of the Buller Labour Representation Committee were elected:—President, Mr L. E. Richardson (Waimangaroa); vicepresident, Mr M. Clark (Denniston Miners' Union); secretary, Mr W. P. Jackson (Railway Tradesmen's Un : on); committee, Messrs J. Wilcox, W. Woodcock, W. O. Neill, R. WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
RIMU
The July meeting of the Rimu Women's Institute was held in the Rimu Library, with Mrs J. Kelly presiding. Members said farewell to Mrs Olson, a former president, who,' with her family, is leaving for Palmerston North. For members, Mrs Kelly wished Mrs Olson the best of luck, and presented her with a crystal vase. A competition for articles made from a flour bag resulted:—Mesdames L. Hagar and L. Rasmussen (equal) 1, Mrs Surgenor 2. Mrs T. Wells gave a demonstration of making wool roses. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames W. O'Connor and L. Rasmussen.
WESTPORT PERSONAL NOTES
. Mr J. Bonisch, of the North Island, is visiting his parents in Westport Mr and Mrs K. Shrimpton left on Saturday for Christchurch, where Mr Shrimpton is attending the New Education Fellowship Conference. Miss H. Bonisch (Westport) has retuned from a holiday at Rangiora.
Mr and Mrs Lockhart (Denniston) have left for Blackball and Christchurch, where Mr Lockhart will attend the New Education Fellowship Conference this week.
At the Old Boys* Football Club annual ball, held in the Theatre Royal on Friday night, the guests included Mr and Mrs E. Holder, who are on a holiday from England? where Mr Holder is playing Rugby League football. The Mayor (Mr J. Kilkenny) and the president of the Old Boys' Club (Mr P. Smith) welcomed Mr Holder back to Westport.
