AUCKLAND, July 5. Ift the terms of the will of Mrs Emma Gillibrand, of Northcote, Whose death at the age of 91 occurred on June 23, her estate, which has been valued at less than £ 16,000, will eventually be devoted to the establishment of a home for elderly Women in poor circumstances.
On the expiry of certain iife interests, the trustee is directed to use the whole of the estate for the establishment,, support, and maintenance of a home to be called the "Emma Gillibrand Home for Women." this home is to be for widows and single women over the age of 55, of good character, who have been residents of New Zealand continuously for not less than 15 years, and whose total income does not exceed £52 a year* The committee which is to Control and manage the home will include the Mayoress of North-cote* the Mayoress of Auckland, the -president of the Auckland branch of the National Council of Women, the ady superintendent of the Auckland Public Hospital, and the president of the Auckland Ladies' Benevolent Society. . „, The general rules and regulations are left to the committee to frame, but there is a special provision in the Will declaring that in no case shall there be any discrimination against any applicant because df denominational or religious be ief. The committee is required to keep proper books of account and to publish accounts and balance-sheets annually.
