ILLITERACY IN EGYPT
200 NEW SCHOOLS TO BE ESTABLISHED

The Budget provides for the creation of 200 additional primary schools, with compulsory attendance. This is believed to be the direct result of a recent revelation that 88 per cent, of the native population is illiterate.
