ALTITUDE RECORD CLAIMED FOR SOVIET GLIDER
MOSCOW, July 4.
According to their barograph, which was picked up, two glider pilots ascended to an altitude of 15,100 feet. This is claimed to be a world record. After climbing to 12,000 feet they encountered a hailstorm, a snowstorm and a violent air current which smashed the machine. The pilots parachuted to safety. _____—.
