TROUBLE FEARED IN PALESTINE

BRITISH CRUISER SENT TO HAIFA

EXPECTED RESENTMENT OF PARTITION PLAN

REPORT OF ROYAL COMMISSION AWAITED

(UXXTKD PEESS ASSOCIATION —COtVUIGHT.)

(Received July 5, 9.30 p.m.)

LONDON, July 5. The battle cruiser Repulse unexpectedly left Malta for Haifa.

It is believed her departure was ordered because of fears of possible disturbances when the report of the Royal Commission on Palestine is published on Thursday. The report, it is expected, will recommend the division of Palestine into three parts, Jewish and Arab sections, and the British Mandate. The Arab Nationalists particularly resent the idea of partition.
