CULVERDEN WEATHER FOR JUNE

I A total of 2.92 inches of rain was [recorded in Culverden during May, compared with 97 points for V 36 for the corresponding month. Rain fell on 11 days compared with six days for last year, and the highest falls were registered on June 10 (53 points) and on June 23 (50 points). The total up to the end of June for the year is 1092 inches, compared with 14.54 inches for the corresponding period for the year 1936. The highest frost recorded in Culverden during the month was 18.75 degrees.

GOLF

RANGIORA CLUB

A medal round for July was played by members of the Rangiora Golf Club on Saturday. The A grade was won by R. G. Edward, 80 gross, 6 handicap, 74 net; J. D. Galloway being runner-up with a card of 75 gross, handicap scr, 75 net. In the B grade, the winner was J. A. McKay, 90 gross, 18 handicap, 72 net; and the runner-up R. Ballinger, 91, 18—73. F. W. Mehrtens won the C grade with a score of 98, 24—74, and C. J. Keir, who returned a card of 102, 24—78, was runner-up.

RANGIORA WOMEN'S CLUB In the hidden-partner competition played by members of the Rangiora Women's Golf Club, the best scores were handed in by Mrs G. E. H. Davis and Mrs Shankland, 168. The winners of the C grade competition were Miss Rhind and Mrs A. G. van Asch. The round of the Stableford bogey competition played on Saturday resulted as follows:—Mrs Davis 28 points, Mrs L.
