AMUR RIVER INCIDENT SETTLED

MOSCOW, July 3
The Japanese Ambassador, after conferring with M. Litvinov, announced that the frontier incident of the Amur river had been sett'ed, the Soviet agreeing to withdraw patrols from the Bolshoi and Sennaka Islands and Manchukuo agreeing to a similar course.
A message from Tokyo says the Soviet forces have begun the evacuation of the disputed islands, and the tension is regarded as over.
