WOODEND CROQUET CLUB

Members of the Woodend Croquet Club and many of their friends were | entertained by the president (Mrs J. ( Crawford), at a pleasant coin afternoon, at her home, "Brockenhurst." The large reception room was decorated with chrysanthemums, Iceland poppies, and spring flowers. During the afternoon, Mrs W. Gardiner (Rangiora), Mrs I. Stalker, and Mrs A. Petrie won competitions. A piano solo was given bv Miss Lucy Crawford, songs by Mesdames J. Jelfs and A. Petrie, and recitations by Mrs B. J. Archer and Mrs W. Coles. Mrs Archer gave a humorous reading. A buffet afternoon tea was served in the dining-i-oom.
