NORTH CANTERBURY CLUB

EXHIBITS OF HIGH STANDARD

Although entiic-.-. for the North Canterbury Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Club's annual show, which opened at Rangiora yesterday, were about 100 fewer than at the show last year, exhibits generally were o£ a high standard, and competition in many classes was keen. Poultry sections were well supported, the utility classes receiving considerably more patronage than last year, but miscellaneous sections caused the decrease in the total entry. There was no rabbit section this year.

Entries numbered (161. compared with 765 last year and 805 in 11)35. Details of the exhibits in each section are as follows, last year's figures being given for a comparison:—Open poultry. 92 (115;; utility poultry, 202 (160); bantams. 65 (67); pigeons, 89 (101); canaries. 60 (51); fancywork. 55 (63); photography, 10 (16); roots, 23 (45); cookery, 30 (62); fruit. 13 (13); cats. 22 (39); total, 661 (.765).
