CONTRACT FOR EQUIPMENT J TO BE LBT SOON (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) ROTORUA, June 16. An indication that at the end of the present month the Government hoped to let a contract for the equipment and* machinery necessary for the erection of a mill at Rotorua for the utilisation of products of State forests and also for the establishment of a creosoting plant which would make it possible to supply most of the North Island's requirements in the way of fencing posts and strainers, mining -props, and power poles was given by the Commissioner of State Forests, the Hon. F. Langstone, when officia.ly opening the Rotorua Winter Show today. , Mr Langstone added that the Government proposed to establish two similar enterprises in the South Island. During his visit to the district he inspected native land development work in his capacity as actingMinister for Native Affairs, and expressed his gratification with ' the splendid progress being made.
