LAURIAN CLUB RECITAL
The first recital of the - Laurlan Club's 1937 season will be held in the Radiant Hall to-night. An interesting programme of orchestral and chamber works will be presented. The Laurian Club string orchestra, conducted by Mr Victor C. Peters, will p"'ve Grieg'" "Holberg" suite and a "Suite for String." bv Dr. Sainton, the direction of the Sydney ConservaWium of Music. The orchestra will also provide the string accompaniment to Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 5. <n which the soloists will be Iren" Morris (violin) W*»csi<» (rii-nr.-fort'-V. and A. E. Hutton (flute). Two chamber works, the Cesar Franck ninnoforte quintet and Trio in C (Rootham), will be presented by members of the club, the players in the quintet being Irene Morris, Dora Deal, Valmai Moffatt. C. R. Moon, and Noel Newson: and in the trio, Norma Widdleton. ■"'alma l ' Mnff.q-lt. T.'i'iai Harper. Mrs Walter B. Harris, soprano, the guest soloist, will be heard in songs by Brahms and Armstrong Gibbs.
