received fatal injuries in a level crossing accident at North Manakau on May 12, evidence was given that Harris slowed down his car when approaching the crossing. He appeared to hesitate, then accelerated, the train striking the rear of the vehicle. A verdict that death was due to shock and multiple injuries suffered in a collision between his car and the train was returned.
