♦ PROVINCIAL FUND MORE THAN £9500 YESTERDAY'S CONTRIBUTIONS Donations to the King George V National Memorial Fund received by the City Treasurer total £8960 13s Id. Contributions from Canterbury, however, amount to more than £9500, for more than £SOO has been paid direct to the Government's account in Wellington by some local bodies and other organisations in the province. A list of these contributions was supplied recently to the secretary of the committee organising the appeal in Christchurch (Mr St. J. J. Dunne) by the Internal Affairs Department, but Mr Dunne said yesterday that several substantial amounts had not yet been credited by the department. Contribution? acknowledged yesterday by the City Treasurer were:— Staff. Blackburn, Smith and Company, Ltd., £1 Is;' staff, McKenzie and Willis, £5 8s: McFarlane and Company, Ltd., £1 Is; Mr James Mac Gibbon and staff, £1 15s 6d; Beckenham School Committee, £1 Is; Mr G. Robertshaw, £4 ICs 6d; anonymous, 2s 6d; Mr K. M. Grrsson and staff, £1 2s; Mr H. H. H. Gardiner, 10s; New Zealand Coffee and Spice Company, Ltd., £2 2s.
