RAILWAY ENGINE CAPSIZES

FALLS DOWN 20-FOOT CLIFF INTO SEA (PHESS ASSOCIATION TELEG.EAM.) OAMARU, June 15. A shunting engine, hauling trucks for the Oamaru foreshore protection works, capsized over a 20-foot cliff last night. The line was very near the cliff, and the weight of the engine caused an earth subsidence, resulting in the engine toppling over. The driver, Walter Goodall, and the fireman, Frank Healey, jumped clear, and were not hurt. The engine is now being pounded by the seas, and is a complete wreck.
