WRESTLING

BLOMFIELD BEATS STEIN CPB*BB association tslxobam.) WELLINGTON, June 7. "Lofty" Blomfield beat Sammy Stein by a single fall in a professional wrestling bout to-night. The match was very even, and in the later stages Stein had the advantage, showing himself a quick and versatile wrestler. Blomfield took the only fall by dumping and pinning Stein in the fifth round. A big crowd watched the contest, which was fast and hearty, and characterised by a good deal of elbow jolting, and by frequent controversy between Blomfield and the referee. COX BEATS SPELLMAN (FBZBS ASSOCIATION TE^BOBAU.) AUCKLAND, June 7. A professional wrestling match between "King Kong" Cox and John Spellman resulted in a win for Cox by one fall. This was obtained in the sixth round, after Spellman had been picked up twice and slammed. His shoulders were easily pinnned with a body press on the second occasion. ■
