Government New Zealand Government/ 4 per cent, stock due 1946 appeared easier with buyers and business at £lO3 17s 6d. Commercial Bank of Australia were fractionally firmer at 19s Id. Bank of New Zealand were firm with sellers and business at 45s 4d, buyers at 45s 3d—the mortgage shares were firm at 27s 7d, market closing Id either way. National Bank of New Zea 7 and were firmer on buyers' offers, 64s 6d. Goldsbrough, Morts were fractionally firmer at 37s lid, market closing Id either way. New Zealand Refrigerating 10s paid were steady at 8s lid, closing quotations Id on either s:de. North Canterbury Freezing remained unaltered at 425. Westport-Stockton Coal were firm at 2s 9d, market closing Id either way. New Zealand Breweries dropped to 50s 3d and 50s, and more were offered at 50s 2d—the "rights" weakened from 24s 3d to 235. Staples Brewery shares declined to 535, and closed easier with sellers at 52s 8d buyers at 525. Tooths Brewery fell to 555, buyers staying in at that price.
