OBITUARY

MR ROBERT MCCALLUM The death has occurred at his rest dence in Blenheim of Mr Robert McCallum, second son of the late Mr Archibald McCallum, an early pioneer in the Marlborough district. M*- McCallum was born in Blenheim in 1858. He was educated at a private school and later at the University of Otago. He was well known as a school , master, a member of the Salvation Army, and for 40 years a successful farmer. His wife, a daughter of Mr William Gunnion, an early Canterbury settler, died four years ago, and he » survived by two sons, Messrs R. H. and R. A. J. McCallum of Blenheim, and one daughter, Mrs H. L. Spark, of Southbrook. The Hon. R. McCallum is the only surviving brother.
