The Florentine Festival Society of Buffalo has given its 1937 achievement award to Commendatore Generoso Pope. New York City publisher. The award is given each year to the person of Italian extraction adjudged to have done most during the year for the Italian people. Mr Pope, former immigrant boy, publishes three Italian-American newspapers. During the depression he headed a committee which raised nearly 1,000,000 dollars for the destitute of his nationality.
