Gene Raymond and Ann Sothern in "Walking on Air"
i "When two ingenious college boys find themselves with nothing between them and starvation but parchment diploma, the fun starts in the film "Walking on Air," starring Gene Raymond and 'Ann Sothern, which is coming to Jhe Mayfair. The hi?h spot of both comedy and plot is the attempt of Gene Raymond M;o prevent Ann Sothern from marryfing another man, by means of a frantic broadcast. As his sweetheart speeds towards Yuma, Arizona, from Beverly Hills, Raymond fights attendants in a 'broadcasting studio in an effort to stop
the final denouement combine to provide a fast-moving, gripping entertainment. Three musical numbers for the show, "Cabin on the Hilltop," "My Heart Wants to Dance," and "Let's Make a Wish," were written by Kalmar and Ruby and Sid Silvers. The film, however, is strictly a romantic'comedy with radio episodes offering an opportunity for song presentations. The settings are smart and ultra modern, and run the gamut from the western terminus of a trans-continental air line to the palatial home of a Beverly Hills plutocrat.

Bernard Newman, studio stylist, created 10 splendid costumes for her, including negligees, sports apparel, street ensembles, and formal evening gowns. Gene Raymond impersonates a French count to earn money to further his career. Henry Stephenson has the role of Ann Sothern's father. Jessie Ralph plays the aunt. Cast as Raymond's partner in woe is Gordon Jones, noted football star.
