WINTER SCHOOL AT ASHBURTON
METHODIST BIBLE CLASS MOVEMENT A winter school for senior members and leaders of the Methodist Bible Class Movement was held at Ashburton recently. The time was occupied with studies, discussions, addresses, times of quiet and intercession, music and recreation. The chief speakers were: Tutorial addresses, the Rev. G. It. Harris, "The Grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ"; the Rev. Wesley Parker. "The Love of God Our Father"; the Rev. Lex Miller, "The Fellowship of the Holy Spirit." The open forum leaders were the Rev. H. C. Matthews, "Discipleship"; th> v Rev. L. C. Horwood, "Stewardship'; and the Rev. L. G. Hanna, "Leadership." The school was presided over by the Rev. H. L. Fiebig, 8.A., of Christchurch. DANCE AT HINDS The Hinds Ladies* Hockey Club held its opening dance of the season in the Hinds Hall, which was effectively decorated In the club's colours, black and white. Many visitors were present from surrounding districts. Novelty dances were won by Miss Bertha Galletly and Mr R. Oakley, Miss Ivy Bird and Mr A. Clark. Music was played by Cook's orchestra (Methven), and extras by Miss Lily Dell and Mr B. Claughton. Mr R. Bush was master of ceremonies. Among those present were Mesdames G. K. Reddeclirte, W.
