"INDOOR FIREWORKS"
ASHBURTON REPERTORY SOCIETY Surpassing anything the society has so far produced in the line of comedy, "Indoor Fireworks," the , bright three-act play by Arthur Macrae, will be presented by the Ashburton Repertory Society at the Majestic Theatre this evening and to-morro / evening. It is a story full of rich humour, with a well-handled plot that offers four splendid "curtains." It deals with the bitternesses that are paramount in the Barry family and which come to the surface when the fan.av assembles to celebrate a birthday. As Chris. Barry, the actress, Mrs L. A. Charles has the leading role, and others in a well-chosen cast are Winnie Andrew, Leah Gilchrist, Anne O'Connor, Elizabeth Prentice. Libas Sherbournc, Arthur Nicoll, Charles E. Johnston, Noel Hosking, and J. Hallset Millar. The play is being produced by Mr Carl Moller. Dr. N. E. H. Tulton's orchestra will have charge of the musical side of the production. MISSIONARY AUXILIARY AT WILLOWBY Mrs W. Avery presided at a meeting of the Willowby Young People's Missionary Auxiliary held in the church vestry. Gifts of scrap books were received for sisters' boxes. An excellent programme was given by Nell Greenaway. Dorothy Parsons, Elaine Lill, Phyllis Lattimore, Janet Parsons, and Margery Chapman. Mrs Avery spoke on various aspects of missionary work. It was agreed to make the next meeting a special gift effort, and that jthe mothers be invited to attend.
