RELIEF COMMISSION MEETS BOUNDARIES TO EXTEND TO SELWYN RIVER The recently-appointed Mid-Canter-bury Adjustment Commission set up under the Mortgagors and Lessees Rehabilitation Act, consisting .of Messrs J Emslie (Timaru), chairman, A. Gregory (Ashburton), and M. Bruce (Ashburton) held its first meeting at the Ashburton courthouse yesterday, and the hearing of applications for relief will begin shortly. In addition to 567 applications for relief which were filed at Ashburton, it is understood that the commission will deal also with farm applications between the Selwyn and Rakaia rivers. Mr W E. Brough, of the Ashburton Magistrate's Court staff, is secretary to the commission.
