MANY ATTEND SERVICE AT WELLINGTON (FBE3S ASSOCIATION TEI.KGBAU.) V/ELLINGTON, May 31. . All sections of the community joined to-day in paying their last tribute to the Rev. T. Fielden Taylor, City Missioner, whose death occurred on Saturday. A large gathering attended the funeral service in the mission, and many hundreds who could not gain admission waited outside. The funeral was a long one. The service at the mission chapel was conducted by the Rev. H. S. I. Kenney, vicar of Petone, assisted by the Rev. E. McLevie, vicar of Roseneath, and the Rev. W. Southward, of Christchurch. Nearly all the clergy of the city and suburbs attended. At Karori the service was conducted by Mr Kenney and the Druids' service by Bro. Mawhinney. Sea scouts formed a guard of honour. MR MATTHEW DALZIEL The funeral of Mr Matthew Dalziel, for many years Inspector of Reserves for Canterbury University College, took place at the Balcairn cemetery on Thursday afternoon. Before the funeral left the residence of Mr Dalziel at Opawa, a service was conducted by the Rev. D. Gardner Miller. The esteem in which Mr Dalziel was held was shown by the large attendance of relatives and friends from many districts in the South Island. The service at the graveside was conducted by the Rev. D. Gardner Miller, and the pall-bearers were Balcairn officers of the Druids Lodge. V, girls of Miss Dalziel's class, Spiritualist Church, Incorporated; Miss Harrison. HIGH TRIBUTES PAID High tributes to the work of Mr M. Dalziel, who died recently, on the eve of the relinquishment of his duties as Inspector of Reserves for the Canterbury University College Council, were paid at a meeting of the council yesterday. The chairman (Mr C. T. Aschman) spoke of Mr DaJziel's interest in the college, and a motion was passed placing appreciation of his services on record and expressing sympathy with the family.
