FLANAGAN—TURNER The wedding was celebrated recently at- the Dallington Church of Marv Elizabeth, eldest daughter of Mr and‘Mrs S. H. Turner (Barry’s Bay), to Norman Lance, third son of Mr and Mrs G. Flanagan, Christchurch. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a navy tailored suit, a white crepe de chine blouse smocked in Coronation, colours, and a navy toque finished with an eye-veil. She carried a white prayer book, and wore a spray of white cyclamen and freesias on the lapel of her coat. Miss Grace Wakelin (Halswell), who attended as bridesmaid, wore a navy tailored suit, a pink blouse, and a navy Jjat. Her spray was of pink cyclamen and sweet peas. Mr Howard Flanagan, the bridegroom’s brother, was best man. At the reception, held later at Dixieland, the bride’s mother, who received the guests, was wearing a black tailored suit, a white satin blouse, and a black hat, relieved with a silver buckle. Her spray was of abutilons and fern. The bridegroom’s mother wore a navy crepe de chine frock, a black velour coat, and hat to tone. Her spray was of dark red roses. Mr and Mrs Norman Flanagan’s future home will be at Duvauchelle Bay, Banks Peninsula. MILLER—LIDDLE Many friends gathered at the Presbyterian Church, Clandcboye. for the wedding, celebrated recently, of Audrey Christina, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs L. G. Liddle, to George Samuel, eldest son of the late Mr Miller and of Mrs Miller, Brighton. The Rev. J. U. Reid officiated and Miss Clayton was organist. , A trained frock of cream ring velvet trimmed with pearl Jauttons was worn by the bride, who was given away by her father. Her silk tulle veil, embroidered with pearls, was arranged from a circlet of orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. Attending her was her sister, Miss Muriel Liddle, who wore a trained frock of coronation-red silk velvet, made with cowl neckline and full puffed sleeves, and finished with gold buttons. Her head band was of gold leaves and red flowers, and she carried a bouquet of autumn-tinted chrysanthemums. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr A. Miller (Brighton). At the reception, held at the home of Mr and Mrs J. M. Craig, the guests were received by the bride’s mother, who was wearing a wine frock, a burgundy coat, and a hat to tone. She was assisted by the bridegroom’s mother, who wore a brown frock with orange trimmings, a brown coat, and a hat to match. For travelling the bride wore a green tweed suit and a hat to tone. The future residence of Mr and Mrs G. S. Miller will be in Timaru. DELL—HORTIN A recent wedding was that celebrated recently at St. Stephen’s Church, Ashburton, when John Leslie, third son of Mr and Mrs J. W. Dell (“Riverslea,” Lynnford), was married to Queenie Charlotte, second daughter of Mr and Mrs H. E. W. Hortin, Ashburton. The Rev. H. A. Childs (Tinwald) officiated. The bride was escorted by her father. Her frock of white satin beaute was cut on classical lines, and had an inset yoke of lace. Her veil Was held in place by a wreath of orange blossom buds, and she carried a bouquet of white roses and fern. The three bridesmaids were Misses M. Hortin, L. Dell, and E. Wilkinson. They wore ankle-length frocks of pink satin beaute cut on classical lines, and made with Medici collars. Their caps matched their frocks, and they carried posies of autumn flowers and asparagus fern. Mr Robin Johnston was best man. On leaving the church, the bride was presented with a silver horse.shoe by her little niece, Shirley Tarbotton. A reception was held at Lewitt’s reception rooms, the guests being received by Mrs Hortin, who wore a navy tailored suit and a hat to tone. She carried a posy of autumn flowers. The bridegroom’s mother wore a brown tailored suit and a brown hat. and carried a posy of brown and gold chrysanthemums. Mr and Mrs J. L. Dell will make their home in Christchurch. WRIGHT—VEALE The marriage was celebrated recently at the All Saints’ Church, Hokitika, by the Rev. W. E. D. Davies, of Isabella Grace, elder daughter of’Mr and Mrs G. A. Veale (Hokitika), and George Bonar, eldest son of Mr and Mrs A, Wright, Takahue, North Auckland. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a frock of white figured angel-skin made with leg-of-mutton sleeves and a long trained skirt. The bodice had a long basque, and a diamond brooch trimmed the neckline. Her embroidered veil was held in place with a halo of orange blossom, and her bouquet was of white chrysanthemums and auratum lilies, relieved with touches of pink. Miss Jessie Veale, sister of the bride, and Miss Jessie Sherriff, her cousin, were the bridesmaids. They wore green and pink moire taffeta frocks made with sleeveless bodices, high shirred neckline, and long trained skirts. Their fitting coatees had basques and puff sleeves, and they wore also green and pink silk net caps finished with halos of silver. Their bouquets were of abutilons. Iceland poppies, and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom was attended by his brothers. Mr M. Wright and Mr lan Wright. Mr and Mrs Veale received theii guests at Preston’s tearooms. The bride’s mother wore a navy pinstriped suit trimmed with a floral spray, and a hat to match. Mrs Wright wore a frock of black crepe faille and a hat and shoulder spray to tone. For travelling, the bride wore a smart navy tunic frock relieved with silver, a fur-trimmed navy coat, and a navy hat. Mr and Mrs G. B. Wright’s future home will be at Takahue, North Auckland. ROBERTSON—DRUMMOND The marriage was celebrated recently at St. AAdrew’s Church, Ashburton. of Dorothy, only daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Drummond (“Heatherlea,” Winchmore). to James Alexander, youngest son of Mr and Mrs John Robertson, Springfield. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr Bibby, of Methven, and the organist was Miss L. Watt. A solo was sung by Miss Helen Drummond during the signing of the register. Mr Drummond escorted his daughter who wore a cream satin beaute frock made with a lace yoke and full bishop sleeves. Her veil of silk tulle was held in place by a halo of orange blossom, and. she carried a shower bouquet of white chrysanthemums and freesias. The bride was attended by two of her cousins. Miss Mary Drummond and Miss Jean Lowe. Their frocks made alike, were of eau de nil and Buckingham lilac brocaded satin, the skirts being composed of three flounces. The elbow-length sleeves were puffed, and silver floral snravs trimmed the necklines. Coronets to match their frocks formed their head-dresses, qnd they carried shower bouquets to tone.

Misses Margaret Chambers and Dulcie Thomas, as flower girls, wore frilled frocks of shell-pink georgette. Mr Badin Robertson attended his brother as best man, and Mr R. Drummond acted as groomsman. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a lucky horseshoe by little Dorothy Reddiclifte. The guests were received by the bride’s mother, who wore a navy blue ensemble with a hat to tone. The bridegroom’s mother wore a navy suit relieved with pink trimmings. Both matrons wore autumn tinted shoulder sprays. The bride travelled in a bottle-green suit and a hat and coat to match. Mr and Mrs J. A, Robertson will live at Springfield.
