♦ GOVERNMENT TO MAKE FACTS PUBLIC (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, May 28. The Minister for Defence (the Hon. F. Jones) announced to-day that it was desirable that the public should know that all aircraft accidents were the subject of inquiry by the Air Department. ' Every accident was investigated immediately by an inspector of accidents, and a report was submitted to the Minister. From this report it was decided whether a further inquiry was necessary. In future, it was his intention to release the main facts of these reports for publication.
