FORTNIGHTLY SOCIAL
CANTERBURY CALEDONIAN SOCIETY The fortnightly social of the Canterbury Caledonian Society was held in the Caledonian Hall on Thursday evening. The president. Mr C. S. Thomas, presided. Eight new members were elected, making a total of 83 new members for the present season. The programme consisted of the following items: Selections, the society's pine band; song. Mrs Cyril Good: Highland fling. Marjorie and Grace’ Cameron and Donald Cameron; elocution item, Mr F. Stevens; song. Miss Greta Archer: elocution item. Mr H. Instone: Seann Triubhais. Marjorie and Gracie Cameron; comet solo. Mr B. Simpson; brass quartet, Christchurch Municipal Band; sword dance, Donald Cameron; song. Mr Noel Burtt; ballet. Miss Carnochan’s punils; selections, Mayfair Trio: duet. Miss Freda Judkins and Mr L. Strong; banio and mandolin trio, Messrs Savage, Sadler, and Rasmusson; Reel o’ Tulloch, Marjorie, Grace, and Lillius Cameron and Donald Cameron. Mr G. C. Russell was accompanist, and after the concert dancing was enjoyed.
