QUIST MAY BE OUT OF TEAM

ATTACK OF INFLUENZA AUSTRALIA'S CHANCES IN DAVIS CUP (Received May 27, 11.30 p.m.) FOREST HILLS, May 27. The Australian Davis Cup tennia player A. K. Quist, who is suffering from an attack of intestinal influenza, is considerably better to-day, though he is confined indoors. He hopes to practise to-morrow. American tennis circles expressea some concern over Quisf s condition, believing it to be more serious than Mr C. E. Sproule, the captain, indicated. They speculated on whether it would prevent his playing against the Americans. Questioned about Australia % chances if Quist were unable to play, Mr Sproule smiled and remarked that the team was supplied with other good players. It is the opinion in American circles, however, that the absence of Quist will be a blow which might cost Australia her chance of winning the cup. A foot-fault committee has been appointed to watch all the players during practice and to warn them if they are violating the rule.
