SOVIET AEROPLANE OVERDUE
♦ MISSING ON FLIGHT TO NORTH POLE TWO OTHER MACHINES LAND AT DESTINATION MOSCOW, May 26. Three aeroplanes conveying 23 men, supplies of food, and equipment for the polar meteorological station took off on the 550-mile flight from Prince Rudolf Island. M. Molotiv's aeroplane with eight men reached its destination 12£ miles from the pole. M. Alexiev's with seven men landed 14 miles from the pole. M. Mazuruk's aeroplane with six men on board has not been heard of for 13 hours.
