Mr R B. Tennent, Director of the Fields Division of the Department of Agriculture, was a passenger from the north by the steamer express yesterday morning. Mr Philip B. Levy left for Wellington last night by the steamer express. Mr V. C. Mathews, managing director of Robert Malcolm, Ltd., was a passenger by air to Dunedin yesterday. Mr Louis Whitcombe arrived in Christchurch from Wellington by the steamer express yesterday attorning. Mr D. J. McGowan was re-elected chairman of the Wellington Harbour Board at a meeting of the board last evening.—Press Association. Dr. A. G. Couston, of Christchurch, who has been absent from New Zealand since February on business of the Department of Mental Hospitals, arrived from Wellington by the steamer express yesterday morning. Mr C. Bowen, of the Vacuum Oil Company, Wellington, was an arrival in Christchurch from the north yesterday morning. Mr G. H. Luke, of Wellington, arrived in Christchurch from the north yesterday morning. Mr I. L. M. Coop arrived in Christchurch from Wellington yesterday morning. -Mr W. J. Sim has joined the board of directors of the Mount Cook Tourist Company of New Zealand, Ltd., as an advisory director. Regret at the death of Dr. J. Stevenson and sympathy with his relatives were expressed in a resolution carried at a meeting of the North Canterbury Hospital Board yesterday. Mr Claude Davies has returned from judging the musical sections at the Oamaru competitions. The following were elected to represent the Canterbury centre on the New Zealand Accountants' and Auditors' Association at the annual meeting of the association at Auckland yesterday:—Vice-president, Mr G. H. Christie; members of council, Messrs A. W. Bascand, J. Hutchins, F. H. Labatt, J. H. Stringer, W. M. Tyers, and M. W. Woodfield.
