More than 400 persons, including the members of the Royal Family, attended a rehearsal of the Coronation ceremonial at Westminster Abbey this morning. The King and Queen also took part in a rehearsal in Westminster Abbey this afternoon. During the Coronation rehearsal the Archbishop of Canterbury (Dr. Cosmo Gordon Lang) four times placed a dummy crown on the King's head. The Queen's crowning was not rehearsed. Their Majesties wore their Coronation robes over their ordinary clothes. Their Majesties attended a second rehearsal in the afternoon. They took part in the procession from the west door to the theatre. Many distinguished persons participated in the ceremony. . DOMINION GUARDS AT PALACE AUSTRALIANS TO TAKE OVER FOR TWENTY-FOUR HOURS (Received May 5, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, May 4. The Australian Associated Press learns that arrangements have been completed for the' Australian contingent to mount guard for 24 hours at Buckingham Palace. It is understood that other Dominion contingents will also mount. guard but because of the widely representative nature of the contingents they will be on a smaller, scale, each contingent occupying the | sentry boxes for a short period, instead of fully mounting the guard. ' OTHER DOMINIONS TO TAKE PART (Received May 5, 10.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 4. The "Daily Telegraph" says Australia, Canada, and India will each mount guard for a full 24 hours over Buckingham Palace and St. James's Palace during Coronation week. New Zealand and South Africa, whose contingents are too small to carry out a full day's duty, will each supply 30 men and two officers [who will mount guard from noon [till 6 p.m. . The New Zealand contingent will carry out guard duty on May 11. There are seven posts at each Palace. The South African contingent, j which arrived in London yesterday, received the news that it was to carry out guard duty in London while at sea. The men immediately began practising aboard the liner Gloucester Castle. ORDER OF THE BRITISH EMPIRE KING APPROVES CHANGES IN REGALIA (Received May 5, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, May 4. The King has approved the changing of the colours of the mantles and ribbons of the Order of the British Empire to rose pink and pearl grey, also to an alteration of the stars on the badges to include crowned effigies of King George V and Queen Mary, in whose reign the ocder was founded. FIELD-MARSHAL'S BATON PRESENTED TO KING (Received May 5, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, May 4. Accompanied by six other fieldmarshals in full dress uniform, FieldMarshal Sir William Birdwood presented the King with his fieldmarshal's baton in the State apartments at Buckingham palace.
