V.C. GIVEN TO REGIMENT.—The Victoria Cross awarded posthumously to Private Jacob Rivers being, presented by his sister, Mrs Potter, to Major-General Sir Frederick Maurice, colonel of the Sherwood Foresters, at Derby, England, last month.
Mr EJ Salter Davies, a noted English educationist, who will attend the forthcoming New Education Fellowship Conference in New Zealand.
