THE DOG NUISANCE
TO TEE EDITOR OE TBE PRESS. Sir, —In the correspondence columns of “The Press” of April 26, a letter appeared about the dog nuisance, drawing the attention of the City Council and public to the disgusting habits of dogs in the streets of Christchurch. It would appear that all streets are subject to this dangerous menace. Let
us trust to Providence your correspond dent was not alluding to streets where shops are displaying food for human consumption. May I ask you: Does this look like inviting contact with infectious disease germs? Are dogs carriers of a most dangerous and highly infectious disease? If so. what excuse. have the authorities to offer the public, especially young children who cannot speak for themselves? In my ophu°s the City Council should make the City dog registration fee £2 2s and no doßi should be allowed in the streets. Thla would cure the dog mania, also give a percentage of safety to the pubuc. — Yours, etc.. ' MICROBE. May 1. 1937.
