GIFT PARTIES'

At their home in Dacre street, Linwood, Mrs George Sleeman and Miss Lorna Sleeman were hostesses at a "kitchen" gift party in honour of Miss Doris McKay, whose marriage will takfl place on Easter Saturday. The guests spent a pleasant time playing "flag 500." The prize-winners were Miss Doris McKay, Miss Edna Wright, and Mr R. Bates. Those present included Mr and Mrs V. Gallagher, Mr and Mrs W. Martin, Mr and Mrs R. Bates, Mr and Mrs W. Cooper, Mr and Mrs A. Lamport, Mr and Mrs G. S. Sleeman. Misses Doris McKay, Hazel Pannell, Edna Fright, Thelma Offwood, and Lorna Sleeman. Messrs John Woodward, Sydney Cordner, Jim Fineran, and Gordon Cameron.

Miss McKay was also the honoured guest at a party given by Mrs Charles Fletcher at her home at North Parade, Shirley. Games and competitions were enjoyed, the winners being Miss Hazel Pannell, Miss Chrissie Cavanagh, Miss Jean Service, Miss Lorna Sfceman, and Mrs George Cotton. Many gifts for Miss McKay's new home were brought by the guests, who were:—Mesdames C. Fletcher, E. B. Rawlings, W. Buckton, and G. Cotton, Misses Hazel Rennell, Chrissie Cavanagh, Joyce Collins, Nellie Buckton, Jean Service, Betty Pankhurst, Lorna Sleeman, and Iris Steele.

Mrs H. Spicer and Mrs I. Fraser were hostesses at an enjoyable bathroom gift party held at the letter's home in Shirley. The guest of honour, Miss Pat McKenzie, who is to be an Easter hride, received many useful gifts for her new home. Competitions were won by Misses P. McKenzie and Z. Grenfell and Mrs E. Appleyard. Amongst those present were Mesdames W. Craze, J. Waldron, E.Appleyard, D. Sylvester, P. Mills, Misses Pat McKenzie. Z. Grenfell, D. Neill, Pat] Cuneen. J. Anson, and E. Spicer.
