RESIGNATION OF MINISTER

SHARP DIFFERENCE WITH COLLEAGUES

SENSATION IN AUSTRALIAN CABINET

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION — CCPVRIGKT-) (Received March 11, 1.30 a-m.) CANBERRA, March 10. Sir Henry Gullett (Minister im Charge of Trade Treaties) has announced his resignation because of a difference of opinion with his colleagues on the subject of treaties. The resignation came with dramatic suddenness following sharp differences with his Cabinet colleagues on an undisclosed point in the trade policy concerning Canada. Sir Henry Gullett left the room and wrote his resignation. He did not return to the Cabinet, and failed to attend the farewell dinner to-night to the Prime Minister (Mr J. A. Lyons), and the Minister for Defence (Sir Archdale Parkhill) on the eve of their embarkation for England to attend the Coronation.
