JOHN BROWNLEE'S DEBUT IN NEW YORK
GOOD IMPRESSION MADE IN "RIGOLETTO" (Received February 19, 12.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, February 18. Mr John Brownlee, the Australian singer, making his debut, in "Rigolelto," was warmly received by r large audience. The "New York Times" says: "It was a pleasure to recognise as soon as Mr Brownlee appeared that the singer had not only the routine part well in hand, but had a consistently and proportionately developed conception of the character, which was reinforced with a voice_of good [.Duality and the style of a musician."
