NOT A FAVOURABLE BALANCE
AUSTRALIAN TRADE WITH U.S. CANBERRA, February 18. The Minister in charge of Trade Treaties (Sir Henry Gullett) states that trade between Australia and the United States for the six months ended on December 31 did not show a favourable balance, as has been stated. Australian exports included gold and. gold specie, which were not taken into the trading accounts between the countries. "The new position, however," said Sir Henry Gullett, "shows a refreshing improvement upon the average balances for recent half-yearly periods."
