JUNIOR TOURNAMENT SEMI-FINALS IN DOUBLES REACHED The Canterbury Croquet Association's junior tournament was continued yesterday, when the semi-finals in the championship and handicap doubles were reached. It is expected that the finals In these events will be played to-day. The Southland croquet championships were continued in fine weather, though rain stopped play this evening. In the .semi-final of the championship doubles, Mesdames McLeod and Pettigrew (Gore) beat Mesdames Corbet and W. McLennan (Timaru) 26-16. The finalists are Mesdames McLeod and Pettigrew, and Mrs Cole and W. Nichol (Dunedin). In the first life of the open singles, Mrs Richards (Timaru) beat Mrs Wilson (Invercargill) 26-15.
