CABINET CRISIS IN BELGIUM
Socialist Minister May Resign
REXISTS CAUSE SCENE
IN SENATE
(UNITED MESS ASSOCIATION --COPYIUGJIT.) (Received January 28, 7.5 p.m.)
BRUSSELS, January 27
A crisis has developed through the possibility that the socialist leader, M. Emile Vandervelde, is resigning from the Cabinet owing to differences with his colleagues, notably concerning Spain. Another message states that a violent scene led to a suspension of the Senate session, the Rexists refusing to discuss the budget of the Transport Minister, M. Marcel Jaspar.
[The Belgian Government is a Catholic-Socialist-Liberal coalition, formed on March 25, 1935. M. Emile Vandervelde is the Socialist Minister for Health. M. Marcel Jaspar, with whom, the messages indicate, the Rexists (fascist and royalist party) have differed, is a Liberal.]
