PLAN TO CHARTER STEAMER transport prom to akaroa A steamer may be chartered by the Wanganui rowing -clubs to carry their crews and boats to the New Zealand championship regatta at Akaroa on February 27, according to reports from the north. It is understood that the men will live on the ship while they are in Akaroa, and that they hope to save a considerable amount of expenditure in the transport of themselves and their boats by taking a direct sea •rovAe. , Mr F. D. Kesteven, president of the Canterbury Rowing Association, said that this proposal had reached his ears. He thought it a most attractive idea, particularly as accommodation at Akaroa over the week-end would be taxed to the utmost.
